LiveSTRONG
Happy New Year!!! It’s 2009! damn, time is flying by!! How did you celebrate the new year? I’ve already heard tons of stories about how my friends drank till they puked haha! I decided to spend time with my mom and two sisters this year. Last year I went to some random party with some friends, got completely wasted and threw up all over the front lawn of someone’s house, it wasn’t fun or a good memory. As I mentioned before my grandmother got really sick, she’s diagnosed with lung cancer and unfortunately it’s a stage where we just have to wait and pray for her. My family is absolutely torn because she lives overseas so it’s not like we can just drive over to see her. My dad flew out to spend time with her for new years so I decided to be there for my mom and sisters, they were really excited that I stayed home and welcomed the new year with them. A lot of you are probably wondering why I’m sharing my personal life with you but with friends like you, I feel like I could tell you anything and you’ll be there for me and all I’m going to ask is for you to keep my granny in your prayers. She’s the most incredible woman I’ve ever met with the biggest heart, she would do anything to help others, most of the time before helping herself. I think that quality is so hard to find today and I think she’s a perfect role model for myself and my family. I know I’ve been out of touch with a lot of you and that’s because I’ve been dealing with this, I really haven’t been vocal about it but it’s deep down inside that’s fighting it. I keep looking over my right wrist that carries the “LiveSTRONG” bracelet, I’ve had this bracelet on for almost 5 years and never in my life has it meant more, it has definitely helped. Well, I’m not feeling to well so I’m going try and get some rest, thank you for being there for me, it means a lot and I appreciate all the support you’ve given me and the band.
Love,
Alex
